Technical Compatability Details: The BigEasy non-rebreathing resuscitation valve with the BigEasy mask is indicated for use in adults and children older than 18 months of age. The lower age limit of 18 months of age was determined by the volume of the mask that holds exhaled breath that is then inhaled on the next breath (not fresh air). To resuscitate infants and children as young as 2-3 months of age (> 5kg, 11 lbs), the BigEasy valve (SKU: 170V) can be used in conjunction with the Vital Signs’ infant mask size 2 (SKU: 171-INF). This is because of the significantly smaller volume of air that is rebreathed when using this mask (or other infant masks with a volume ≤ 29.6 mL).
